If you destroy this file, all your data will be lost if you don't have a backup (which you should have).įrom your description, it is not yet a foregone conclusion that your file (QDF) is corrupted. The most important thing is to not DELETE or OPEN the original QDF-backup file. This will open the Quicken file before it was corrupted. Rename the file QDF-backup file to QDATA.QDF Rename QDATA.QDF in the Quicken directory to QDATA_OLD.QDF.Į. copy (not move) the QDF-backup file with the date of your patch install to your Quicken directory.ĭ. Copy the Quicken QDATA.QDF file to the directory you made,Ĭ. Do not modify, open, delete these files until you get Quicken working again! This QDF-backup file contains your Quicken data right before the patch was installed. If in doubt, copy all the files in this directory to your directory. Copy this file to another directory outside of the QUICKEN directory. There should be a filename containing the date you installed the update ( in my case). In it should be files with names like QDATA-.AM08.58-R-20.15.QDF-backup. If you go to the directory with your Quicken QDF (data) file, there should be a subdirectory of BACKUP.
